Honestly the biggest disappointment for me personally is how hollow all the villagers are. Landscaping and decorating got a nice increase this moment, I had rather they focus on Animal Crossing Bells fleshing out our interactions with our villagers on another iteration.
I agreeit seems just like villagers have only been place dressing at this point. They exist solely to accommodate the participant as opposed to feeling like real characters who mainly need to do their own thing. There's also just eight villager personalities so you are guaranteed to get duplicates on your own town.
For me, it is how fine I could make everything seem, and then it's completely meaningless.
In my house, I have a dart board, collection of board games, puzzles, arcade games... and there's no interactivity. People post lovely screenshots of their buddies hanging out, but not one of your things DO anything. I would enjoy it if you can have all sorts of minigames as you go. If I set up two football goals within an area and utilize some kind of tool to designate the area as a field, give me a cheeky little football minigame. If my friends come in my house, let's all play some darts or even a board game.
And don't get me wrong, I really like the game. I've played a scary number of hours, and take great enjoyment from decorating and planning. But I only wish things occurred after I set it all up. Let us let Ribbot utilize the work out area he has. Reneigh just stumbled into an outside restaurant set up, maybe her and Melba want sit down and do something. Roald has his combat helmet on and the fireworks show is going on, allow me to get in his home and help calm him down.
Dude minigames would save the show 100 percent, or being able to interact with things in a more pleasing way (maybe zoom up on the item and allow you to play it idk). And also to designate a set of things as a bigger whole item ( such as the soccer goals)
I am curious about just how fleshing out villagers would do the job. Given that there's so many it would be tough to create them meaningfully unique without a whole lot of cheap Animal Crossing New Horizons Items work. I have always just viewed them as a special category of decorations in my town/island.
