Friday's confirmation by the MMFF committee was that the annual film festival, which will take place from December 25, 2021 through January 20,22, will go ahead. It will be held under minimal health protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a tweet from ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe, Benjamin Abalos Jr. said "Tuloy na tuloy" and that he would make sure this was a very successful pagagandahin natin Ito."

A Hard Day (action) Starring Dingdong Dantes John Arcilla
Big Night (comedy), starring Christian Bables and Janice De Belen.
Huling Ulan sa Tag-araw (romantic comedy) starring Rita Daniela and Ken Chan.
Huwag Kang Lalabas is a horror movie starring Kim Chiu and Jameson Blake. Beauty Gonzalez and Aiko Melendez are also in the film.
Love At First Stream (romantic comedy) starring Kaori Oluma, Jeremiah Lisbo and Daniela Stranner.
Nelia is a suspense drama starring Winwyn Marquez Raymond Bagatsing.
The Exorsis (horror comedy) starring Toni Gonzaga Alex Gonzaga.
Kun Maupay man it Panahon (drama) starring Charos Santos-Concio and Daniel Padilla.
The following criteria were used to select entries: Creativity/technical (40%), Commercial Appeal (40%), Cultural Sensitivity (10%) and Global Appeal (10%).
